Michael Lee Miller, M.D. is a board-certified surgeon with clinical experience spanning over 20 years. Dr. Miller specializes in both cosmetic and medically indicated venous procedures, including radiofrequency ablation, (RFA), ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, micro-phlebectomy, and cosmetic sclerotherapy. His surgical skill and expertise add new dimensions to Avana Plastic Surgery’s services and provide the utmost value for our patients.
After graduating magna cum laude from Mercer University in Macon, GA, Dr. Michael Lee Miller was awarded a full scholarship for medical school and commissioned in the United States Air Force. He was later hand-selected by the Air Force to complete a General Surgery residency and a year of surgical research at Keesler Medical Center in Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi.
Following his years of extensive training, Dr. Michael Lee Miller was appointed to serve as a general surgeon and the surgical element leader at Osan Air Base in the Republic of South Korea. He was later assigned to Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, where he became one of the first surgeons on the Gulf Coast to begin minimally invasive vein procedures for the treatment of cosmetic and medically indicated venous disease. Dr. Miller also specialized in complex cosmetic and reconstructive surgery which was integral to the care of injured military members and civilians during his deployments to Balad Air Base in Iraq and Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2014 and has successfully practiced cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida.
