Important Exercises after a Breast Augmentation!

You will perform them daily starting from the day after your surgery to reduce pain and relax your muscles. Guided by the expert hands of two members of our staff, this brief tutorial will teach you how to properly care for your new breasts. Remember, maintaining a good postoperative exercise routine can help prevent complications such as capsular contracture.

- Good morning, ladies. My name is Lizzie, and I am your nurse practitioner at Avana Plastic Surgery. Here we have with Nairene. We're gonna talk about breast exercises today. She is one of our medical assistants, and we're gonna be doing the breast exercises on her.
- These exercises are gonna start on day 1 after surgery. We're gonna show you here in the office how it needs to be done. First of all, you have 3 different exercises.
- The first exercise, you're gonna put your hands right here next to the breast and you're gonna push the implant together. Three repetitions.
- 2nd exercise, you're gonna hold the breast with one hand, the other one push down. 3 times. You do the same with the second breast, hand down, this one push.
- And the last one is very very important, this one will massage and grab the whole implant. You're gonna put your thumb right here and the whole arm grabs the breast. And you do it 3 times.
- You do these exercises every day after surgery. You're gonna do, like, 10 repetitions during the day, and they are very, very important not only because it will relax the muscle and you will have less pain, also because it will prevent capsule contraction. Very important after surgery because it's one of the most common complications after breast augmentation.
