Can I get a Mommy Makeover? Dr Pane answers

In this video, Dr. Pane clarifies who would be the optimal candidate for a Mommy Makeover. Although combination procedures save time and money for many patients, it is necessary to evaluate first carefully her overall physical health and the body areas that she wants to correct. A mommy makeover is a complex procedure that involves multiple surgeries at once.

Dr Pane: Who is an ideal candidate for a mommy makeover? Well, that would be anybody who has a condition with their breasts and their abdomen that they want to address. Typically, it's going to be some kind of tummy tuck. That will be for the belly. And for the breasts, it could be as simple as a breast augmentation if there's no sagging, or it could be a breast lift or reduction if position and size are the issues, or it could be a lift with implants for people that have a little drooping, and they want to lift with more volume added.
- Now, for these patients, we want somebody who will be in good health and without a very high BMI because the mommy makeover is among the larger surgeries that can be done in a cosmetic surgery practice. So we want to ensure the chance of complications or problems is very low. So, sometimes, people need to ensure they are optimized in case of any medical issues. In rare cases, if a patient has an uncommon condition, a higher BMI, or specific medical issues, they may be advised to split the procedure into two parts; addressing the breasts in one session and the tummy in another. However, most of the time, we can do everything in one setting with ideal planning.
