Why is Ultrasound Essential for a Safe BBL?

Safety is the top priority at Avana Plastic Surgery. In this informative video, Dr. Golio explains the critical role of Ultrasound-Assisted BBLs and why this technology has revolutionized the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure.

Dr. Golio says ultrasound provides a 'real-time map' of the body’s internal structures. By allowing surgeons to see exactly where the cannula is positioned, this technology ensures that fat is injected safely into the correct tissue layers, avoiding deep structures that could cause serious complications. Watch to learn how we combine expert surgical skill with advanced technology to provide the safest and most beautiful results possible.

Host: 'Hi guys, I’m here with Dr. Golio, and I’m going to ask him one of the questions that everyone is dying to know. So, why are ultrasounds so important in BBL cases?'
- Dr. Golio: 'Well, the reason why ultrasounds are so important is the following: Number one, they allow us to know exactly the level at which we are placing the cannula.
- The BBL consists of taking fat from one part of the body and transferring it to another, mainly to the buttocks. And this is very important because in that area, there are important structures that can cause serious problems if you don't know where they are.
- That's why we use ultrasound. When we go in, basically we're placing it on top of the skin; it allows us to see everything underneath that we normally can't see, things that we wouldn't be able to see with the naked eye. So, while I'm inserting the cannula to inject the fat, I can see exactly where the cannula is.

Precision and Safety: Ultrasound allows the surgeon to see the exact depth of the cannula, ensuring fat is placed in the safe 'subcutaneous' space.
Real-Time Imaging: It acts as a guide to avoid deep internal structures and blood vessels, significantly reducing the risks associated with traditional BBLs.
Visualizing the 'Invisible': The technology reveals what is happening beneath the skin that cannot be seen by the naked eye during surgery.
Gold Standard: At Avana Plastic Surgery, using ultrasound-assisted techniques is a fundamental part of our commitment to patient safety and superior body contouring.
